Assam tea is a black tea grown in the Assam region of northeastern India, one of the world’s largest tea-producing areas. It is made from the Camellia sinensis var. assamica plant, which thrives in Assam’s warm, humid climate, heavy rainfall, and fertile soil. These conditions give the tea its distinctive strong flavor and bright color.
